Elena Vasilevskaya, senior curator of 20th century sculpture at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg, kindly showing me around the unsurpassed collection of Soviet period sculpture that belongs to the Russian museum. They are particlularly strong in Vera Mukhina, Aleksandr Matveev (and his school), and Stepan Erzia.
